Joyce Sainz Mitchum was born and raised in Port Lavaca, Tx. Her mother worked in retail and her father worked at Alcoa but moonlighted as a police officer, sheriff's deputy, and after his retirement from Alcoa (while Joyce was in high school) her dad was a Chief of Police. Joyce lived & worked in the Victoria area after graduating from high school in 1983 and attended Victoria College and received a degree in Computer Science. Joyce also lived in San Antonio for a few years after college and worked in the computer industry. She eventually moved back to Victoria in 1990 and worked for over 10 years as an Information Systems Specialist with the Texas Attorney General's Office in both the Victoria and Corpus Christi offices. Joyce meet her sweetheart Jeff in 1992 and started a wonderful life together. Jeff is a volunteer firefighter at Dow and for the Mission Valley Fire Department.

Joyce was a working mom raising her daughter Alyssa while traveling often for the State, but after finding out in 2003 that she was going to have twin babies she decided to become a stay at home mom with Joey and Jeffrey while looking into other career choices with less travel. With the help of a wonderful mentor Larry Clark, Joyce decided to become a Realtor. She attended the real estate school at the San Antonio Board of Realtors and obtained her real estate license in April 2006. Joyce's career in real estate has grown as did her family, she is the mother of 3 wonderful children and 2 amazing grandsons Cason & Colton. Joyce is a workaholic but her free time is spent with her 16 year old twin boys running to sporting events, to laser tag, & to anything else that's fun! And of course spending quality time with her daughter and her grandsons! Her real estate career has blossomed over the years as well. In January 2016 when Caleb Shaw was starting his real estate company Shaw Realty, she was the first agent to join him in his new venture. With Shaw Realty & the Shaw Agents, she has found her second home! Joyce has helped many home buyers find that perfect place to call home and helped home owners sell their homes so they can move on to their next adventure in life.
